Nikki T. Grant writes dark romance and romantasy about Black women who were never meant to have power and took it anyway. Her short story "Writing Miss Right" appears in These Kindred Hearts, an upcoming anthology from Zando. She is currently writing two debut adult fantasy novels — a dark romantasy set in a world where the magic is inherited, the politics are murderous, and the women are neither safe nor sorry about it; and a sapphic fantasy romance about a woman competing for a crown she's trying desperately to lose. By day Nikki teaches high school literature in Atlanta, where she holds an M.A.T. in Secondary English Literature and wages a quiet war on the American educational system. Off the clock she can be found online yelling about books, television, and film, or deploying her neurodiverse superpowers toward cozy games and teaching herself to crochet. She writes the stories she wants to read. She does not write them softly.
